Welcome To The State Patriot

Where to begin? No no no, where to go; that’s the real question.

I pondered after all of my necessary work was done. And I meant all of it; my mineral stockpile was full, the corporation POS running at maximum capacity, my manufactured goods on the market, and with some more being produced, I felt like I was sitting on top of the world.

No, I am just delusional. Maybe just a little bit. Or maybe not delusional at all. My mind raced faster than the speed of light.

“Ding!” a ping goes off in the back of my head, alerting me that I learned everything there is about signature analysis. Forgetting that I had not injected a new bottle of skill serum into my implants, I hurried and grabbed long range targeting, injecting it into my neural implants.

Where to go, what to do?

My datapad flashed, it was from Roc and his delusional Ramblings. This time he had updated on the war situation.

The days ahead would be perilous for all of New Eden, I decided; nothing was going to remain the same.

It seems like he had made up his mind.

Who was I anymore?

Or maybe not.

Still, I don’t know why that arrogant Matar Colonel thinks he is so above everyone, by now he has totally forgotten about his roots, his principles, and his people in the Minmatar Republic. The Sanmatar doesn’t really care about the people, but really, past that thick smoke of deceit, Roc was just being used as a pawn in his game of chess.

But still, at least he was doing something. I… I… I am just sitting here. At least he was gaining power, some leverage within that crumbling Republic. Power is what I desire too, something everyone desires for.

Damn, I think it was time to re-enlist.

“Ah, I see you have been in the militia before, and it says here…” the recruiting officer went on, “you were discharged after being promoted to Second Lieutenant.”

“Yes sir, I left because I didn’t feel it was right for me, at that time of course. But now I am ready to take on my responsibilities.”

“Perfect then.” He entered my information and said to me, “welcome to the State Patriot.”

Ah the freshness of low sec overwhelmed me. I was with a fleet roaming around. We had battlefield intelligence that there was a similar sized fleet of the FDU coming towards us. We all warped to the Fliet gate in Heydieles to greet them and upon landing, I locked the primary.

The Vexor didn’t last long, but neither did I, and as soon as the Vexor had exploded I also went down. Warping my pod out I also retired from the fleet. It had been quite the first day back into the war.

The following day after a comfortable sleep and a hearty hot breakfast I boarded a fully exploration fitted Buzzard. Planning on sneaking past the Nourvukaiken/Tama chokepoint cloaked, I can continue on my way to decontest those systems near the Gallente homeland. The jump into Tama yielded me with 3 war target interceptors. I quickly flare my jets to give off a heat signature where I was and quickly move away cloaked.

Gotcha guys! I had escaped from being caught.

The sun shone gloriously in the name of the State, and I warp to a small complex to see if I can contribute to securing the system in the name of Tibus Heth.

Sirens blaring and my displays flashing all round me; I was locked, scrambled, and my ship was quickly made into scraps. Second time I had to warp my pod out in a long time. A long time indeed since this had happened.

How? What? No I think my systems are malfunctioning. Maybe not. Why had I landed so close to that gate? I swear I had warped to it 60 kilometer away.

After tuning into the militia channel quickly and posing my question, I got a response that suited me well, “you are always pull into 0 when you warp to a plex.”

Today I am silently floating in a Caldari Stronghold. Silent. The Minmatar was still in the 21st century; they had to load engineers into the control center to hack it. I sat 10 clicks away and my ship’s computer did all the work.

Site has been captured; you have defended a Tactical Site for the Caldari State; for doing so you have been promoted to the rank Captain.

That felt nice. I am thinking I will keep doing this. My engines flared up again, I am taking off to find the next system that needs defending, and my Incursus warps deeper into the Gallente Federation.

Long live the State, long live the Patriots, glory for Tibus Heth! Aim your guns and warm up those computers Gallente scum; you have a new slippery squid to catch in town!

Ah, you can have the whole “war and glory” thing. I place my trust in the 34th Rule of Acquisition: “War is good for business.”

(Of course, the 35th Rule of Acquisition is “Peace is good for business.” It’s easy to get them confused.)

Very good post. Always interesting to see how each of us can twist the words of others to the advantage of our own story.

I mean that as a compliment. I enjoyed the piece.

Nice, enjoyed it!

Not that I am very up on FW, but i thought the Caldari had ‘won’ and capped all the plexes? Or does it just go on once Gallente have retaken one?

@Erbo Evans
Haha well if I can give you business, then it’s all good!

@Roc Wieler
What an honor guy! It was really nice to see your thoughts on me using you in my piece. Thanks for checking it out.

@Ombey
Thanks! The Caldari have taken all control over the Gallente, but they are trying to capture it back. They can get into the plexes and put them into a “vulnerable” state where they can change the “sovereignty” to make the system Gallente controlled.

By defensive plexing I can prevent that from happening :D
